Use of UGC — INFONET facilities in the Selected University Libraries of Karnataka State
Abstract:
Increasing support in promoting the Library automation and networking by UGC has given a new direction and dimension to the growth and development of university libraries as vibrating knowledge centers. UGC – INFONET has changed the very outlook of the usage of electronic journals by the academic and research community in the Universities.Though there are illustrative writings in appreciation of the usage pattern, the real situation is the lack of awareness of the technical competence among the users in exploiting the available resources in their respective libraries. This paper is a humble investigation to analyse the usage pattern of e-resources in the selected three universities in KarnatakaState
